Sir,
Foul smell is emanating from the UGD in First Cross, G-Block, Ramakrishnanagar (R.K.Nagar) under Ward 58 for the last 3 to 4 months causing nuisance and health hazards to the residents.
I had complained this to MCC about 3 to 4 times and they promptly attended and cleaned the manhole with the help of jetting machine. But the problem is not solved. The drainage smell still persists and in fact it has increased after the rains posing health problems.
I am of the opinion that new UGD pipes have to be replaced against old ones which were laid 30 years back. This is a serious issue and the area Corporator seems to be unaware of this.
On behalf of the residents, I request the MCC Health Officer to inspect and take immediate steps to solve the issue.
