Performs pada puja to Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji
Udupi: Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti, who was in Udupi yesterday, performed pada puja to Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji on the occasion of Guru Purnima yesterday.
Uma Bharti, who arrived at Sri Krishna Mutt at 11 am, was welcomed by her guru Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji. Later, the Union Minister had the darshan of Lord Krishna through ‘Kanakana Kindi’ before performing the guru vandana rituals.
Speaking to mediapersons, Uma Bharti said that it was on Nov. 17, 1992 that Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji had offered her the Sanyasa Dheekshe and added that she made sure to offer pada puja to her guru on Guru Purnima every year. Uma Bharti, who visited Udupi during 2000, came to the temple town after 17 years to offer special puja.
