Union Minister inaugurates second Generic Medicine outlet in city

Mysuru: The second outlet of Prime Minister Bharatiya Jan Aushad Centre (Generic Medicine) was inaugurated by Ananthkumar, Union Minister for Chemicals, Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs at Kyathamaranahalli here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ananthkumar said that the Union Government had drastically reduced the prices of drugs used by people to treat hypertension, diabetes, heart ailments and cancer which are being sold through Jan Aushad Centres.

He added that one such centre would be opened in every district gradually. He said that about 600 medicines and 154 surgicals were available at the Centre.

MP Pratap Simha, former Minister S.A. Ramdas, MLC Tara Anurada, former MLAs G.S. Nanjundaswamy, C. Ramesh, Deputy Mayor Rathna Lakshman, ZP Vice-President Nataraj, Corporator Indira Ramesh, DHO Dr. Basavaraj and others were present.

Doctors who have achieved in the medical field were felicitated on the occasion.
