Mysore/Mysuru: On the occasion of his 66th birthday, Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy visited Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi Hill this noon and offered his obeisance to the deity.
Earlier, Kumaraswamy, also a former Karnataka Chief Minister, who came from Bengaluru by road, was accorded a warm welcome by JD(S) and BJP supporters in front of ‘Payana’, a vintage car Museum on Mysuru-Bengaluru road. Welcoming the Union Minister, the supporters burst crackers and raised slogans hailing him.
Former MP Prathap Simha, former Minister S.R.Mahesh, MLC C.N.Manjegowda, MLA G.D.Harish Gowda, former MLAs M.Ashwin Kumar and K.Mahadev, City BJP President L.Nagendra, JD(S) leader Narasimhaswamy and others were present.

Returning from Chamundi Hill, Kumaraswamy drove straight to Government Guest House in Nazarbad, where he had some rest and later left for Malavalli in Mandya by road to take part in Suttur Mutt event there, it is learnt.
