Mysuru: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism K.J. Alphons inaugurated ‘Mysore Travel Mart 18’ at J.K. Grounds in city this afternoon. The four-day event is organised by Mysuru Travels Association (MTA), in association with Department of Tourism, KTF and Mysuru Hotel Owners Association.
The mart showcases several stalls and exhibitors from all around the country targeting travel ideas, holiday plans and business prospects relating to it. The exhibitors comprised several national tourism promotion boards, airlines, trade associations, financial institutions, travel agents, tour promoters, foreign exchange and so on.
Given the grand success of their series of events like Mysore Travel Mart 2010, Go Beyond 2013 and Mysore Travel Mart 2016, the Mysuru Travels Association is organising ‘Mysore Travel Mart 18’ in a bigger way promoting Mysuru tourism and attracting exhibitors from various parts of the country.
The expo aims to provide information to the public about tourism and the facilities or the agencies that they can cater to and to get the best possible deals and packages. Travel agencies, resort and holiday expedition agencies from Ooty, Kodagu, Mysuru, Rajasthan, Manali, Wayanad, Bengaluru, New Delhi, etc. have set up their stalls in the expo. The exhibitors provided detailed plans, offers and other travel advices and the must-see places in a particular trip at a respective place.
About 75 stalls have been setup to give an insight about various touring experiences and deals. The main attraction was a yellow colour ‘Ford Mustang GT’ placed in the exhibition by Ramesh Babu of Ramesh Tours and Travels, Bengaluru.
The event was presided by Mysore Travel Mart Chairman C.A. Jayakumar. Mysuru Travels Association President B.S. Prashanth and Mysore Hotel Owners’ Association President C. Narayana Gowda and others were present.
Many business tycoons, hoteliers, travel agencies related to tourism across the country are taking part in this expo. Several events such as photography competition, performance by Mysore Police Band, concert by Praveen Godikhindi, performance by Beat Gurus Band and a yoga session will be organised over the course of the four days. The exhibition will conclude on Mar.5.
