Mysore/Mysuru: Senior journalist and political commentator Pushpendra Kulshreshta said that solutions to any contemporary problem can be found when people raise a strong collective voice and stand united.
He was delivering a talk on the topic “The current issues haunting the country and solutions”, organised as part of the Swadeshi Diwas celebration by the Mysuru District Unit of Azadi Bachao Andolan, in commemoration of the movement’s founder Rajiv Dikshit, at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Auditorium in Mahajana First Grade College, Jayalakshmipuram, yesterday.
“Any Government or system has to bow before the people when there is unity and a unified voice in any righteous struggle. The power of the Government pales before the strength of a united society. If people remain alert, solutions can be found for any challenge that arises,” Kulshreshta said.
Emphasising the importance of credible documents and accurate statistics while raising any issue, he regretted that plain talk without conviction has become the norm today.
“Anything spoken by anyone must be fact-checked. It is pointless to invite politicians for programmes related to Sanatan Dharma. Politicians speak with a specific agenda and their speeches do not focus on the interests of our religion or national interests. Therefore, inviting them to such events becomes futile,” he asserted.
Pointing out that it took more than 70 years for the full version of Vande Mataram to be sung in Parliament, he stressed that the present generation must be taught about the deeds and sacrifices of great freedom fighters such as Subhas Chandra Bose and Veer Savarkar. Earlier, senior activist of the Andolan Prasanna Kumar delivered the keynote address. Andolan’s Mysuru Convenor Sudhindra, Janajagarana Trust President R. Vasudev Bhat, Aditya Adhikari Hospital’s Dr. N. Chandrashekar and others were present.
