Universal Brotherhood Day celebrated by Free Masons

Mysuru: The Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated by Free Masons of Lodge Jayachamaraja 308, Mysore, by providing help and support to inmates of Chayadevi Anathashrama, Vimala Terminal Care Centre and Chamundi Children’s Home in Mysore.

The visiting Brethren of Lodge 308 under the leadership of W.M Ram H.H donated Rs. 10,000 to Chayadevi Anathashrama in Jayanagar.

Speaking on the occasion, W.Bro Ram said that it is the duty of all Masonic Brethren around the world to celebrate the Universal Brotherhood Day by helping the civil society around their place. ‘It is great pleasure in helping the children and the aged in Chayadevi Anathashrama,’ he said. At Vimala Terminal Care Centre, the Bretheren of Lodge Jayachamaraja 308 gave two wheel-chairs, sugar, oil, phenyl to support and help the inmates of the Centre. The sisters of the Centre were appreciative of the help and support rendered by the Brethren from Lodge 308.

At the Chamundi Children’s Home, the Masonic Brethren  gave shoes, slippers, clothes and stationery to the children. Thanking the Brethren for their generosity, Raghotham Rao, Secretary of Chamundi Children’s Home, said that Universal Brotherhood Day is celebrated after a call given by Swami Vivekananda. On this day, the world has to share the love and compassion of being one family, he said.

W.Bro Pravin Singh, Secretary, W.Bro G.V. Pinto, Treasurer, W.Bro Sidde Gowda, IPM and others were present, according to a press release from John Thayyil of Lodge No. 308.
