Mysore/Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM) Syndicate has initiated the process of establishing Vyasa-Valmiki Chair in the University.

The  recent Syndicate meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar is said to have given tactical approval for the establishment of the Chair. It has been decided to send a proposal in this regard to the Government and the next step on the establishment of the Chair will be taken after Government approval.

A Valmiki Study Chair is already functioning in Gulbarga University and as such, the Syndicate decided to set up Vyasa-Valmiki Chair in Mysore Varsity, it is learnt.
