Unscheduled halts, long waits in Mysuru-Mayiladuthurai Express

Sir,

I recall my various appeals to the South Western Railway (SWR) through this column to ensure that the Mysuru-Mayiladuthurai Express (No.16232) runs as per schedule between Mysuru and KSR Bengaluru Stations, skipping the long waits at Maddur and unscheduled halts at intervening stations like Hejjala, Kengeri, Nayandahalli, besides the signal post before KSR.

But no steps seem forthcoming; rather, it has become a routine now. For instance, on one day, the train halted for almost 20 minutes at Maddur, 15 minutes each at Kengeri and Nayandahalli and touched KSR Station literally at 7.45 pm — three-and-a-half hours later than its departure from the originating station, which equals a passenger train journey.

If the non-availability of tracks at KSR is an issue, can the departure not be proportionately timed to relieve the commuters of the prolonged journey? I repeat my appeal to South Western Railway again and seek a remedy soon. I also request our MP Prathap Simha to intervene and help out in this regard.
