Unscientific footpath

Sir,

l would like to bring to the notice of the authorities concerned the unscientific manner in which the footpath construction work is going on in Krishnavilasa Road parallel to D.D.Urs Road and everyday one can observe heavy traffic.

Since this road also has Avila Convent and Maharani’s Junior College, this stretch is always busy and has very dense traffic. The footpath construction work started almost about a month back. The proposed footpath due for construction is 8 feet in width which is really unnecessary. Most people residing here, park their cars on the road. People who visit Urs Road for shopping also park their cars here.

It is observed that the shop owners of Devaraj Urs Road also park their vehicles in this road, as it is very difficult to get parking space on Urs Road. The autos and cabs picking and dropping school children park their vehicles on the road. Hence the road has become very narrow after the construction of the new footpath.

I request the authorities to reconsider the plan and construct the footpath, may be 3 feet wide. This ensures smooth flow of traffic and enough space for pedestrians also.
