UoM fake answer sheet racket case: All six accused to appear for enquiry on June 22

Mysore/Mysuru: The Internal Committee of the University of Mysore has issued notices to those accused in the answer script racket to appear before it on June 22 for enquiry.

Internal Committee head Prof. A.P. Jnanaprakash, who is also the Registrar (Evaluation) of Mysore University told Star of Mysore that notices have been served to the accused— Rakesh, owner of META-I, which had taken the responsibility of supplying and protecting answer papers, students Chandan and Chetan, Mohammed Nisar, the man behind the crime, Maharani’s Science College Principal and others — to appear before the Internal Committee on June 22.

Prof. Janaprakash also said that a complaint has been lodged at Lakshmipuram Police Station urging for a probe and added that as the case is being investigated by the CCB, the accused in the racket will not escape.

Varsity clarifies

Meanwhile, Varsity Registrar Prof. A.P. Jnanaprakash has clarified that based on the FIR by Mandi Police, only Mohammed Nisar, a Second Division Assistant at Maharani’s Science College, META-I owner Rakesh, students Chandan and Chetan and Mandi Inspector Narayanaswamy have been named and no staff of Mysore University were part of the racket.
