UoM panel to meet in Bengaluru on July 6

Mysuru: The reconstituted search panel to pick a new Vice-Chancellor (VC) for the University of Mysore will meet in Bengaluru on July 6.

The four-member panel, headed by former VTU VC Dr. H.P. Kincha is likely to complete its assignment and submit three names to the Government on the same day.

Former VCs V.B. Coutinho and H.M. Maheshwaraiah and UGC member V.S. Chauhan are the three members of the search panel and according to sources, all the members have been informed of the meeting.

The VCs post is vacant since Jan. 10, 2017 after Prof. K.S. Rangappa demitted office on completion of his four-year term.

Later, Prof. Yeshwanth Dongre, served as the In-charge VC for six weeks. Prof. Dayananda Mane is officiating as the VC since Feb. 20. Earlier this month, the Government appointed senior KAS Officer D. Bharathi as the Registrar.
