UoM students accuse Professor of partiality

Mysuru: A section of students from the Department of Environment Sciences, University of Mysore (UoM), has complained against Prof. A.G. Deviprasad accusing him of partiality.

In a written complaint to the Acting Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar, 16 students have alleged that Deviprasad, a Professor of Biodiversity, was being partial towards them as they have not registered with him for project work.

“He is misbehaving with us and even threatened us that he will prove that we are characterless and he says he will go to any extent to do it,” the students have stated in the complaint.

Students have alleged that Prof. Deviprasad had given less marks to them in the Internal Assessment and has given more marks to those students who are doing project work under him.

“During classes, he cuts dirty jokes which embarrasses all the girls. We fear that he will spoil our academic year,” the students have stated in their complaint.

Acting on the complaint, University Registrar Prof. R. Rajanna has initiated a probe in this regard, it is learnt.

Meanwhile, the Registrar has issued notice to Prof. A.V. Deviprasad seeking explanation about the complaint lodged by the students. He has asked the Professor to reply to the notice within three days.
