Mysuru: Researchers and students of University of Mysore (UoM) staged a human chain protest yesterday, condemning Police lathi-charge on students demonstrating against NEET question paper leak in New Delhi.
The protest, held near the Clock Tower in Manasagangothri campus, was organised to express solidarity with the student movement and condemn what they described as the suppression of democratic rights.
The incident occurred at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, where students had gathered to press their demands.
The Police action drew criticism from postgraduate and research scholars of the University of Mysore, along with pro-democracy organisations.
Chanting slogans and holding placards, the protesters in Mysuru expressed their anger over the Police action in Delhi and pledged support for the students’ movement. Organisers said the demonstration was not only about the NEET issue but also about safeguarding the constitutional right to protest.
