Mysore/Mysuru: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) School, Mysuru, celebrated its Annual Day ‘Bhavanotsava’ at Open Air Theatre in Manasagangothri here on Saturday.
Inaugurating the celebrations, University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. N.K. Lokanath said that BVB Mysuru had been serving the educational sector and the society for the past 20 years.
“Parents, instead of concentrating only on marks-based education, must also ensure that their children are provided with culture, moral and knowledge-based education. It is also important to ensure that children actively take part in extra-curricular activities,” he added.
On the occasion, R.N. Thanya, who had scored 625 out of 625 marks in SSLC exam, was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000. Bhavan Ramesh (624), G.N. Chinmayi (622), Nishal Nagaraj (621), Meghana R. Prakash (621), C.K. Sangeetha (616), Bhuvan Urs (615), C. Sachin (616) and Y.R. Kushal Gowda (615) were also felicitated.
Later the students presented mesmerising cultural programmes much to the delight of the guests and parents present at the venue.
BVB Mysuru Kendra Chairman Prof. C. Naganna, Hon. Secretary P.S. Ganapathy, Hon. Treasurer Dr. A.T. Bhashyam, BVB School Principal S. Lekha Nair and others were present on the occasion.
