Mysuru/Srirangapatna: The 231st Urs-e-Shariff of Hazrath Tipu Sultan Shaheed, organised by Tipu Sultan Welfare and Urs Committee on Sawday Road will be held on June 18.

Sir Khazi of Mysuru Hazrath Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff, MLAs Tanveer Sait and K. Harishgowda, former MLA Vasu, JD(S) leader Dr. Mahaboob Khan. former Corporator Naseeruddin Babu, Congress leader Rahamathulla alias Tipu and Kal-eemulla will be the chief guests.

Prof. Bhashyam Swamiji, Founder of Sri Yoganarasimhaswamy Temple in Vijayanagar, Sri Basavalinga Swamiji of Tipu Town and Bishop of Mysore will be the guests of honour.

Shahi Imam of Masjid-e-Aqsa at Srirangapatna Inayath-ur-Rahman, Estate Officer of Tipu Sultan Wakf Estate at Ganjam Alhaj Mohammed Ayub, Social Worker Mirza Jamsheed Baig Ashrafi and others will be present.

A public function will be held at Meelad Bagh on Ashoka Road at 11 am. Procession will be taken out from Tipu Sultan Welfare and Urs Committee on Sawday Road to Masjid-e-Alla in Srirangapatna and the procession will join the Tipu Sultan Wakf Estate Sandal procession at 3.30 pm and will reach Gumbad-e-Shahi at 5.30 pm.

Fatheha Khaani and breakfast has been organised after Namaz-e-Fajar on June 18 at Allah Malik House on Sawday Road, according to a press release from Mohammed Afroz Pasha, President of Hazrath Tipu Sultan Shaheed, Karnataka State Central Welfare and Urs Committee, Bengaluru and Secretary of Madarasa-e-Quwatul Islam.

At Srirangapatna

Hazrath Tipu Sultan Shaheed Wakf Estate, Ganjam in Srirangapatna, will be celebrating the 231st Urs-e-Shariff of Hazrath Tipu Sultan Shaheed on June 18 and 19 at Gumbad-e-Shahi.

The Sandal procession will be taken out from Masjid-e-Ala at Srirangapatna at 3 pm to reach Gumbad-e-Shahi at Ganjam. From 7 pm onwards, a special programme on Urs will begin and continue till June 19 morning.

Chairman of Karnataka State Board of Auqaf Moulana Shaafi Saadi, Mandya District Minister N. Cheluvarayaswamy, MP Sumalatha Ambarish and MLA Ramesh Bandisidde Gowda will be the chief guests.
