Mysuru: With the onset of summer and water levels at KRS and Kabini reservoirs depleting, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner G. Jagadeesha has urged the residents to use the water judiciously without wasting it.
Everyday 250 MLD water is being supplied to city from rivers which are being pumped from Belagola, Hongalli and Melapura Pumping Stations.
As there was scanty rainfall, the water levels at KRS and Kabini reservoirs did not reach the expected mark and there is just 11.60 TMC in KRS and 6.62 TMC water stored in Kabini reservoir. During summer, the water level in both these reservoirs would go down and the city may face water crisis, Jagadeesha said.
He urged the residents to use water pre-cautiously and avoid wasting it besides asking the residents to install ball valves to their sumps and overhead tanks and he also asked the residents not to waste water by washing vehicles and cleaning ffront yardof houses.
He warned of disconnecting water connections, if the residents were found wasting water unnecessarily.
