Utilise SCP, TSP funds appropriately: DC

DC D. Randeep has said that the review meeting on the progress made by various Departments for the development of SC/ST communities by utilisation of funds under SCP&TSP (Special Component Plan and Tribal Sub Plan) schemes, will be held every month instead of once in three months.

Presiding over a meeting of district level officials concerned with SCP and TSP schemes implementation at his office here recently, Randeep directed the officials to spend the funds sanctioned under the schemes within the same year. Asking the officials to take the schemes seriously, he warned them of action if they failed to utilise the funds.

Noting that the schemes have witnessed 62 percent utilisation of funds so far, Randeep said that a correct picture on spending will be known by Mar.15.

Stating that there was 40 percent progress in PWD Department as at the end of Jan.2017, the DC said that some Departments will show more progress post January. Stating that out of the Rs. 552.36 crore sanctioned under SCP and TSP schemes, Rs. 350 crore has been released to various Departments, Randeep said that Rs. 215 has been spent out of the released funds.

Announcing that the progress review meeting will tentatively take place on the 15th of every month, the DC directed the officials to come fully prepared for the meeting.
