Mysuru: Ahead of Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara-2026, scheduled to be held from Oct. 11 to 21, the Mysore Palace Board handed over the ‘Utsava Murthi’ (procession idol) of Goddess Chamundeshwari to Sri Chamundeshwari Kshetra Development Authority yesterday evening.
Palace Board Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya handed over the idol, made of panchaloha to Authority Secretary M.J. Roopa at Mysore Palace.
The ‘Utsava Murthi’ will be consecrated in the silver chariot, to which floral tributes will be offered by dignitaries during inauguration of Dasara atop the Hill.
The idol will be handed back to the Palace Board on Vijayadashami to be placed inside the Golden Howdah (Ambari) during the Jumboo Savari, on the Howdah elephant.
