Valedictory of Panditaratnam K.S. Varadacharya birth centenary: Veteran scholars conferred awards

Veteran scholar from Coimbatore Jambunathan Ghanapati and Vedic scholar from Tamil Nadu Mani Dravida Shastri, who were honoured at the valedictory of Panditaratnam K.S. Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that co-ordination should be the formula of life, Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha President Ashok Haranahalli warned that failing which will lead to complex situations in the future.

He was speaking at the valedictory of two-day Panditaratnam K.S. Varadacharya birth centenary celebration at Sarada Vilas Centenary Hall in Krishnamurthypuram here on Sunday.

Observing that mutual criticism of Dwaita, Adwaitha and Vishistadwaitha philosophies will lead to problems, Ashok Haranhalli said that it is good that the event has focussed on co-ordination at this critical juncture. Bemoaning caste conflicts, he said that it is important to educate the masses on the principles of Dharma. Pointing out that a ‘Sanatana Dharma Jagruti Samiti’ headed by Vedic Scholar Dr. Bhanuprakash Sharma has been constituted for the purpose, he said that the Samiti will start functioning in a few days.

Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions President Dr. B.M. Subraya in his address, said that Panditaratnam K.S. Varadacharya was a big treasure of knowledge. Observing that Varadacharya’s knowledge has passed on to generations, he regretted that a stature of a person is measured in terms of money and wealth. But Varadacharya was a great personality who reached out his huge knowledge to the community on a big scale, he said adding that Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions will support any initiatives for valued education in the name of the great scholar. 

Former MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, stressing on the need for following divinity, said that Varadacharya played a big role in unearthing the secrets of nature. The scholar also played a vital role in nurturing nature and advocating the values of life, he added.

Sirsi Sonda Swarnavalli Mutt Seer Sri Gangadharendra Saraswathi Swamiji, Melukote Yadugiri Yathiraja Mutt Seer Sri Narayan Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji, Gujarat Narayana Gurukula Seer Sri Madhavapriya Dasji, Melukote Vangipuram Mutt Seer Sri Ilai Alwar Swamiji graced the occasion.

Shekar, son of K.S. Varadacharya, Srirangapatna Vedic Scholar Dr. Bhanuprakash Sharma, Mysuru City and District Brahmin’s Association President D.T. Prakash, Vedashastra Poshini Sabha President S. Nagaraj Bhat, Bhagavadgita Abhiyaana Samiti Working President B.V. Manjunath, Chamarajanagar Industrialist G.M. Hegde, N. Krishnamurthy and others were present.
