Vamana Rao (71), Chief Convenor of Sangh Parivar’s Dharma Jagaran Sanghatane, senior RSS activist and social worker, passed away at a private hospital in city yesterday evening.

He leaves behind his wife, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends.

Rao had served RSS for the past 50 years as an activist in Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban and Koppal districts besides serving as the District Pracharak.

Last rites were held at the foot of Chamundi Hill late yesterday.
