Vanity bag with cash, mobile phone snatched in Jyothinagar

Mysuru: Bike-borne miscreants have snatched a vanity bag containing cash and mobile phone from a woman near Muthu Mariyamma Temple in Jyothinagar here on Dec.24.

The woman, who lost her belongings, has been identified as C. Shantha.

Shantha, on Dec.24, had gone to Dasara Exhibition and was returning home, when miscreants on a Yamaha bike (KA-06-7644) snatched her vanity bag containing Rs.1,500 cash and mobile phone near the temple at Jyothinagar and sped away. Shantha has lodged a complaint at Nazarbad Police Station in this regard.

Man assaulted: An incident of a man being assaulted by a gang of five persons for petty reasons has been reported on M.G. Road here on Dec.30 night.

The man, who was assaulted, has been identified as Ibrahim. He had come to the vegetable market on M.G. Road behind Dasara Exhibition Grounds on Dec.30 night and went to a push cart selling tea nearby when his hand accidentally touched a person standing close by resulting in verbal duel between them.

Soon, four more persons joined the fight and assaulted Ibrahim besides threatening him with life.

Ibrahim has registered a complaint at Nazarbad Police Station in this regard.
