Mysuru: Rangayana and Department of Kannada and Culture together had organised ‘Varshotsava-Harshotsava’ of Rangabanuli at Bhoomigeetha in Kalamandira premises here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Akashvani Mysuru Assistant Director S.S. Umesh contended that grammatical and pronunciation mistakes could be cited in TV news but not in Akashvani programmes.
He said that for the last one year Akashvani staff and amateur artistes were presenting the ‘Rangabanuli’ programme featuring music and plays which has attracted many listeners.
Rangayana Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy said that ‘Rangabanuli’ was being aired jointly by theatre artistes and Akashvani which has caught the attention of many people. He commended all programmes of AIR for their substance and good presentation.
Folk artiste Dr. Prakash Garuda regretted that TV media is more after sensational news with hardly any room for good plays, literature and critical analysis.
Later the play ‘MeToo’ was presented in audio format. Akashvani Mysuru Director Sunil Bhatia, writer Prof. C. Naganna and others were present.
‘Rangabanuli’ was being broadcast by Akashvani, Mysuru, on the last Tuesday of every month commencing from Aug. 28, 2018 which has so far presented 11 radio plays and going to complete one year which was commemorated by staging the play ‘MeToo’, the 12th in series.
