Vasundharotsava-2022: Classical Dance and Music Extravaganza from Nov. 4

The long-awaited 38th edition of the week-long Classical Dance and Music Extravaganza Vasundharotsava-2022 will be held between Nov. 4 and 10 at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, JLB Road, Mysuru, from 6 pm to 9 pm each day showcasing highly talented artistes from different parts of India and abroad.

The events will be in all formats of Classical Dance and Music like Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, Kathak and  Karnatak Classical Music.

The festival will be inaugurated by Prof. Nagesh V. Bettakote, Vice-Chancellor, KSGH Music and Performing Arts University, Mysuru. Sugama Sangeetha Exponent H.R. Leelavathi will be the chief guest. Rotary North President Rtn. S.H. Jagadeesh will be the guest of honour.

Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy will present a solo Bharatanatyam in ‘Vasundhara Bani’ on the inaugural day. The following artistes will perform at the festival:

Vidu. M.S. Vidhyalakshmi:  A senior disciple of P. Praveen Kumar, she has successfully completed her Ph.D. She has given performance all over Karnataka and is a Choreographer.

KSGH Music & Performing Arts University: Senior students will present Bharatanatyam at Vasundharotsava-2022 — Vidu.Samyuktha, Sindhu, Srivalli, Monisha, Sowjanya, Poornima and Vid. Dayanand.

Nguyen Manh Tung (Vietnamese) is the disciple of Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy pursuing Bharatanatyam in Vasundhara Bani since 2015. He has given programmes in India and abroad.

Vidu. Rajashri Holla is the Director of Laasya Lahari Samskruthika Kala Samsthe in Bengaluru. From past 9 years, she has been nurturing the students of this School in kuchipudi style  and the students have performed in major festivals.

Karnatak Brothers: Vidwan K.N. Shashikiran and Vidwan P. Ganesh are well-known Karnatak music exponents, who have performed 4,000 concerts all over India and abroad.

Vidu. Shreya P. Vathsa: A Kathak performer and disciple of Nirupama Rajendra and T.D. Rajendra, she has participated in workshops conducted by legend Pandit Birju Maharaja and others in Kathak. She has presented Kathak in India and abroad.

Vid. Deepak Majumdar: Master performer of Bharatanatyam and A top graded artiste of Doordarshan, he is much sought-after performer, choreographer and established Guru. He has received the SNA Award.

Nair Sisters: Vidu. Veena Nair and Vidu. Dhanya Nair are promising Mohiniyattam artistes of repute. They have performed together in India and overseas and received appreciation.

Vidu. Yamini Muthanna: A versatile Bharatanatyam performer, Guru and  Choreographer, she is also a yoga exponent. She has contributed two books on Yoga, one specially for children. She has performed all over India and overseas.
