Veda Brahma Venkata Krishna Sharma (87), retired Deputy Director for Women and Child Welfare Department,  passed away at his residence in Vidyaranyapuram on Dec. 1. He leaves behind his wife Ananthalakshmi, sons V. Srikantha and V. Ananda. Last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill yesterday.

He was a renowned Sanskrit and Hindi Scholar and taught in Banumaiah’s College, Sarada Vilas College and NIE Science College, Mysuru.
