Veda Krishnamurthy signs for Women’s Big Bash League

Mumbai: Karnataka’s Veda Krishnamurthy became third Indian batswoman after Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandanha to sign up for the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) held in Australia.

Veda has signed for the Hobart Hurricanes for the upcoming third edition of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL).

She was a vital member of the Indian women’s team led by Mithali Raj which had made it to the final of the ICC Champions Trophy for Women early this year in England.

In the crucial match against New Zealand, Veda scored a match winning 70 of just 45 balls to take India to the last four of the tournament.

The WBBL starts from Dec. 9 with the final to be held on Feb. 4, 2018. However, Veda Krishnamurthy is not expected to be available for the entire tournament as the Indian Women’s Cricket Team is scheduled to visit South Africa during Feb, 2018.

Another Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma is also believed to be in discussions with WBBL authorities. However, there is no confirmation.
