Vedike holds signature campaign against Mysuru-Kodagu MP

Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike conducted a signature campaign demanding the sacking of Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simmha for issuing a pass to the accused involved in bursting smoke canisters at the Parliament House in Delhi.

The Vedike had put up a hoarding with a morphed image of Simmha at Ekalavya Circle in city yesterday, to collect signatures on the either side of the image. The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) personnel removed the hoarding with the help of Police, even as the Vedike members entered into a wordy duel with them.

Speaking on the occasion, Vedike State President K.S. Shivaram demanded that Simmha should be sacked as an MP and subjected to probe after arresting him. There are suspicions over the passes being sold by his (Simmha) Office staff and they also should be subjected to enquiry.

Former Mysuru Zilla Panchayat President K. Marigowda, Mysuru District Congress Rural Committee President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, Congress leaders J.J. Anand, R.K. Ravi, Yogesh Uppar and others took part in the stir.

Plaint against Shivaram

Later, a complaint was lodged against Vedike State President Shivaram at Lakshmipuram Police Station for staging the protest with a morphed image of MP Simmha, in the name of signature campaign and depicting him as a terrorist.

Anand, former President of BJP NR Assembly Constituency and the complainant in the case, told media persons, “It is not for the first time that they have indulged in spewing venom against the MP. But this time they have stooped to a new low. The MP had issued the pass to accused for the only reason that he was from Mysuru. Simmha has never supported any ulterior motives.”
