Vedike undertakes Kannada number plates painting drive in city

Mysuru: As part of Kannada Rajyotsava, the Mysuru Kannada Vedike launched a day-long Kannada vehicle number plates painting drive at RTO (West) office premises on JLB road here this morning.

Social worker Sreesha Bhatta launched the drive by painting a Kannada number on a registration plate of a vehicle.

Speaking on the occasion, Kannada writer Bannur K. Raju urged the Government to introduce a law making Kannada vehicle number plates mandatory, on the lines of the one that exists in Maharashtra, where display of Marathi numbers on registration plates is compulsory.

Deputy Commissioner of Tansport K. Anwar Pasha, ARTO Rajappa, Writer V. Muni Venkatappa, Mysuru Kannada Vedike President S. Balakrishna and others were present.
