Vedike urges removal of dead trees near DC’s residence on Hunsur Road

Mysuru: of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, demanding removal of eight to ten dead trees opposite the residence of the Deputy Commissioner on Hunsur Road, staged a snap stir here yesterday. These trees have gone completely dry and are in a stage of dying and likely to fall any time. Steps should be taken to remove them before they can cause harm to the moving traffic, they urged.

Vedike’s District President K. Madesh, speaking on the occasion, said that a branch of a tree was about to fall on a passing autorickshaw in the morning. Since this is a State Highway there is heavy movement of vehicles. Added to that the pedestrians, school and college students also use this road regularly.

This issue was brought to the notice of the Mysuru City Corporation. But they have not taken any action. Hence, without wasting much time, the trees should be removed. If they failed to respond, we will be forced to remove it ourselves, he warned.
