Mysore/Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a veena concert by Vid. Srinivasa Prasanna at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar here tomorrow (Sept. 12) at 6 pm.
He will be accompanied by Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mridanga and Vid. M.R. Manjunath on ghata.
The programme organised in memory of Vid. T.P. Vaidyanathan and Vidu. Indira Vaidyanathan, is sponsored by disciples and admirers of Vid. T.P. Vaidyanathan.
Profile: Vid. Srinivasa Prasanna is a professional Karnatak Classical veena player and an All India Radio ‘A’ grade artiste. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering and works at a multi-national software company. He has performed in many solo concerts and for live broadcast on AIR Bengaluru.
Vid. Srinivasa has accompanied his Guru Vid. D. Balakrishna (top-grade AIR artiste and son of late Dr. V. Doreswamy Iyengar) in numerous concerts.
He has a 2nd rank in Karnataka State Music Junior exams and was awarded scholarship from Karnataka Sangeeta Nrithya Academy for 3 years. Srinivasa started learning Karnatak Classical instrument veena at the age of 5 years from his father late Prof. V. Prabhakara (son of Mysore Asthana Vidwan Veena Venkatagiriyappa). Currently, he is learning advanced aspects of veena from Vid. D. Balakrishna.
