Mysuru: Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised a Veena concert by Vidushi Rakshitha Ramesh on Nov.23 (Saturday) at 6 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Adichunchanagiri Road, Kuvempunagar.

 She will be accompanied by Vid. Sai Shivu Lakshmikeshav on mridanga and Vid. Shamith Gowda on ghata.

The programme is sponsored by disciples of Vid. T. P. Vydyanathan, in memory of their guru.

About the artiste: Vidushi Rakshitha Ramesh  began her initial training on the veena from her mother Chithra Ramesh and has been continuing advanced training under Guru Vid. J. Yoga Vandana of Bengaluru for the last 14 years. She has also received brief training in vocal music from late Vid. T. P. Vaidyanathan of Mysuru and has been mentored in aspects of Laya by Vid. B.S. Purushotham.

She gave her first solo veena concert at SAMA, Bengaluru in 2013 and has so far given concerts at several leading Sabhas across India and also in Singapore. She became a graded artiste of the AIR by winning the first prize in the All India Radio competition in 2016. She received a direct upgradation to ‘A’ grade from the AIR in 2024.
