Mysuru: Raaga Music Academy is presenting Vidu. Rakshita Ramesh’s Veena recital at Prajna Kuteera on Vishwamanava Double Road in Kuvempunagar on Saturday (May 19) at 5.30 pm.
She will be accompanied by Vid. D.R. Chetan Murthy on mridanga and Vid. S. Manjunath on ghata.
Dr N.V. Krishnamurthy, Director, Prajna Kuteera, will give a talk on ‘Healthy Living through Ayurveda and Yoga’ from 4.30 pm to 5.15 pm at the same venue, preceding the concert.
Artiste’s profile
Rakshita learnt her first lessons from her mother Chithra Ramesh. Now she is under the tutelage of Vidu. J. Yogavandana, a dedicated Guru.
This youngster, who is doing her 2nd PUC at Bengaluru, is already a Grade B artiste of AIR. She is a recipient of CCRT scholarship for Veena from 2012.
She has won several prizes in competitions conducted by Sabhas such as Gayana Samaja, Swararnava Sangeetha Sabha, Sri Rama Seva Mandali, Bengaluru, Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Trichy, Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru among others. She was awarded the ‘Promising Young Talent’ of the year by Karthikeya Gana Sabha, Hyderabad.
She gave her first performance at SAMA, Bengaluru, in 2013 and hasn’t looked back since then.
She has performed at prestigious Sabhas like VDS Arts Academy, Chennai, Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha and Ganabharathi in Mysuru, Sri Rama Seva Mandali, Gayana Samaja, Ananya, Bengaluru, Karthikeya Gana Sabha, Hyderabad, Delhi Tamil Sangam, Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society, Singapore, etc.
