K.R. Nagar: A sudden drive against traffic offenders which was held near Hampapura Railway track close to the town by K.R. Nagar Police led by Circle Inspector P.P. Santosh, caught many motorists, who were riding and driving without valid licence, offguard.

Goods vehicles transporting sheep without permit, two-wheeler riders without driving licence, and triple riders were intercepted, imposed fines and were let off with a warning.

Circle Inspector Santosh said that the drive was conducted following instructions from the higher officers to prevent road accidents, incidents of dacoity and robberies.

“If vehicle owners were found carrying all relevant documents, such vehicle owners were let off. While a few two-wheeler riders were found riding without licence,” he added.

Constables Manjanna, Ali and others took part in the  checking drive.
