Malavalli: Pura Police team, led by Inspector H.T. Sunil Kumar have arrested two notorious vehicle lifters and recovered stolen vehicles worth Rs. 8 lakh from them.
The arrested have been identified as 29-year-old Arun and Guruprasad of Malavalli. Auto drivers by profession, the duo had served jail terms in other cases and had come out. The accused had lifted various vehicles in Mysuru city, Maddur and Kollegal and had sold a few vehicles to others. Nahimtaj Azar Pasha and Manu, of Malavalli, who had bought the stolen vehicles, have also been arrested by the Police.
Addressing a press meet at the town’s Police grounds on Wednesday, Mandya Superintendent of Police (SP) N. Yatish said that accused Arun and Guruprasad had lifted vehicles in Mysuru city and other places and added that 8 passenger autorickshaws, one goods auto and four two-wheelers, which they had lifted in Mysuru city and one two-wheeler, lifted in Kollegal have been recovered from them. Additional SP Venugopal, Dy.SP H. Lakshminarayan Prasad guided Pura Inspector H.T. Sunil Kumar, Sub-Inspectors Hanumanthakumar and R. Narendra Kumar, ASIs V. Nataraju and B.C. Lokesh and staff Madesh, Riyaz Pasha, Harshavardhan, Manikantaswamy, Umesh, Prakash and Beeresh in the nabbing and recovery operation.
