Venkataraju (50), a Head Constable serving at Biligere Police Station in Nanjangud Sub-Division, passed away yesterday near Bidadi, while returning from Bengaluru after availing treatment.

Venkataraju was suffering from illness since about six months.

Venkataraju had served for about 25 years at various Police Stations in Nanjangud Sub-Division.  He leaves behind his wife Susheela, sons Vikas and Charan and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites will be performed at Nadubetta near Ooty in Tamil Nadu today.
