Veterinarian Dr. Nagaraj feted on attaining superannuation

Mysore/Mysuru: Renowned veterinarian Dr. Nagaraj, popularly known as the ‘Elephant Doctor,’ was felicitated for his meritorious service by his well-wishers on attaining superannuation on Mar. 30.

Dr. Nagaraj has been a veterinarian for Dasara Jumbo squad for 21 times and had supervised the securing of the Golden Howdah atop Ambari elephants.

A simple person, Dr. Nagaraj had served as the Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry Department at Ramanagar and had taken part in over 250 tiger and elephant capture operations. He had also saved the lives of hundreds of wild birds and animals in distress at the forests by treating them.

Dr. Nagaraj and his wife K.P. Sumathi were felicitated by his well-wishers Movie Director B. Siddegowda, Advocate K.T. Suresh, Krishnappa, Prabhu Chikkade, retired Principal Prof. Nagaraj, singer Krishnamurthy of CFTRI, K.G. Koppal Naganna, Financier Ballalli Lingegowda and others.
