Since last twelve years, the students and admirers of PGL have been conducting music programmes in memory of the great guru and artiste P.G. Lakshminarayana. The 13th year memorial concerts have been organised on Dec. 13 and 14 at Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road. On 13th at 6 pm, there will be Layanamana (Mridanga solo) to Keerthishesha Vid. P. G. Lakshminarayana by Vid. Saishivu Lakshmikeshav which will be followed by a Karnatak vocal concert by Vidu. Kalavathi Avadhooth accompanied by Vid. Adithi Krishnaprakash on violin, Vid. B.R. Srinivas on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Kaushik on ghata at 6.30 pm.
On 14th at 6 pm, renowned mridanga artiste Karnataka Kalaashree Vid. M. Vasudeva Rao will be conferred the title Naadala Visharada by the art patron and industrialist K.V. Murthy, followed by a Karnatak violin duet by Vid. H.K. Venkataram and Vid. Vishnu Venkataram accompanied by Vid. H.S. Sudheendra on mridanga and Vid. G. Omkar Rao on ghata.

Kalavathi Avadhooth hails from a family of musicians. Daughter of the illustrious musician couple Sangeetha Kalaratna Bangalore K. Venkatram and Gamaka Kala Kogile G.R. Jaya, Kalavathi had music running in the whole family. After the initial training under mother and then Vidushi Usha Char, Kalavathi had her intensive training under Ganakala Bhushana Anoor S. Ramakrishna. She was indeed very fortunate to have learnt under Guru Ramakrishna who moulded her to be the artiste she is now. She also learnt under Vidushi Seethalakshmi Venkateshan and Vidwan P.S. Narayanaswamy of Chennai. She has many awards to her credit such as Gaanakalaashree, Ananya Puraskar, Sathyashree and Vishesha Kala Chetana.
H.K. Venkatram started learning violin from his father, Prof. H.V. Krishnamurthy at the age of 7. He gave his first concert at the age of 11 with his brother. Venkatram is one of the most sought after violinists and is frequently seen in classical concerts in India and abroad. He is known for understanding the nuances of Karnatak music and stressing on strictly following the classical approach to playing the violin. He has performed alongside renowned artistes like Balamurali Krishna, Mandolin U. Srinivas, Umayalpuram Sivaraman, T.M. Krishna, Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, R.K. Srikanthan, D.K. Pattammal, Dr. M.L. Vasanthakumari, Kadri Gopalnath, Dr. N. Ramani, T.N. Seshagopalan, T.V. Sankaranarayanan, Trichur V. Ramachandran, Chitravina N. Ravikiran among many others.
Vishnu Venkataram started learning violin at the age 7 from his father Vid. H.K. Venkataram. He is guided by his mother Triveni Saralaya on the vocal nuances. With a serious passion towards the art in his teenage Vishnu has widened his repertoire by learning western classical also.
