Vidhana Soudha to be transformed into Tourist spot

International Travel Expo to be held from Feb. 26 to 28

Bengaluru: Karnataka’s seat of power ‘Vidhana Soudha,’ which is known for its architectural beauty, is all set for  transformation as a  tourist spot.

Speaking after releasing the Brochure and Logo of the second edition of Karnataka International Travel Expo (KITE) at Vidhana Soudha here yesterday, Tourism Minister H.K. Patil said the 3-day KITE event would be held in Bengaluru from Feb. 26 to 28. Pointing out that the Tourism Department is gearing up for KITE, he said that the participants will be allowed entry to the Vidhana Soudha for viewing the galleries, corridors and halls.

“More than 150 exhibitors from 25 countries, over  400 tourism promoters and other stakeholders are expected to take part in the event. Several hotels and restaurants have come forward to provide lodging at a discounted price for the participants,” Patil said adding that it is hoped that the event will bring a fortune for the tourism industry in the State. He further said that a number of MoUs are expected to be signed on tourism investments and promotion during the three-day event.

State Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh said that measures will be taken for attracting huge investments for tapping of tourism potential and promotion of tourism industry in Karnataka.
