Vidu. Archana Rao to perform in “Yuva Sangeetha Sambhrama”

Mysuru: A vocal concert by Vidu. Archana L. Rao will be presented online by Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, as the next episode of its “Yuva Sangeetha Sambhrama – 2020” series. The concert showcasing young talents will be premiered on its YouTube channel at 5 pm on Saturday (Dec. 26). 

 Profile: Hailing from a family of musicians, Archana was initiated into Karnatak classical music at a very young age by her grandfather ‘Haridasa Sangeetha Gana Ratna’ Koviladi K. Rangarajan, a renowned musician in Srirangam and is under the tutelage of her mother, senior musician and Guru Vidu. Koviladi R. Kala since then. 

A graded artiste of AIR, Archana is a regular performer for more than 15 years now. She has performed in several prestigious Sabhas, including Shanmukhananda Sabha, Mumbai, Parampara and Arkay Convention Centres, Chennai, Sangeetha Parishat, Mangalore and in almost all the sabhas                                                of Mysuru.  

  Archana is a recipient of 2nd prize in all India AIR music competition, ‘Kishor Prathibha’ from GoK, ‘M S Subbulakshmi award’ from Bhramara Trust, RTP prize from Shruthi Manjari Prathistana and was the finalist in national-level ‘Naad Bhed’ conducted by SPICMACAY  and DD and topped State in KSEE Board music senior examination. 

City’s young talent Vid. Prithvi Bhaskar, senior artist Vid. M.S.Jayaram and Vid. Raghunandan Rao will accompany her on violin, mridanga and ghata respectively.
