Vidyaranya Rajyotsava award for nine personalities

Mysuru: Nine personalities will be conferred Acharya Sri Vidyaranya Rajyotsava award, instituted by the city’s Himalaya Foundation, Ramakrishnanagar, at a programme to be held at Rotary Centre on JLB Road here at 4.30 pm  today (Nov. 19).

The awardees are: former Mayor N. Prakash (politics), C. Srikantaiah (cultural promoter), K. Prahlad Rao (theatre),  Dr. D. Thimmaiah (medical service), Lalitha Sharma (spiritual), Manjula Umesh (literature), Dr. Jamuna Rani Mirle (art), M. Chandrashekar (literary organisation) and C. Srikanth (social service).

Veteran littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar (CPK) will inaugurate the programme. MLA M.K. Somashekar will confer the awards. District Brahmin Mahasabha President B.R. Nataraj Jois will release the foundation’s monthly publication ‘Arogya Kirana’ on the occasion, according to a press release.
