Vijayashreepura Layout row: CM asks MUDA officials to meet Advocate General

Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddharamaiah Yesterday directed the officials to fix a meeting with State Advocate General to resolve the issues regarding Vijayashreepura Layout.

He issued the directions after Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairman D. Dhruvakumar urged him to resolve the issue. Later, the CM held a meeting with MUDA Commissioner P.S. Kantharaju and obtained the details.

Dhruvakumar told the CM that Chaduranga Kantharaj Urs, son of Sirdar K.B. Ramachandra Raje Urs, who had approached the Supreme Court against the Layout, has agreed to hand over 79.28 acres of land to MUDA against suitable compensation from the Government. The CM opined that it is better to get the opinion of the Advocate General in this regard. He directed MUDA to fix a meeting with the Advocate General in Bengaluru.

It may be recalled here that on Oct. 11, at a Cabinet meeting, the Government had decided in principle to regularise the land and pay compensation to the family of late Sirdar K.B. Ramachandra Raje Urs. The compensation will be paid to Chaduranga Kantharaj Urs and his family as per the 2001 guidance value and as per Section 180 of Karnataka Land Acquisition Act 1961.
