Addressing the gathering, Vikram Muthanna said, collecting vintage cars was an achievement, but preserving and maintaining them was an even greater challenge.
He expressed hope that vintage car exhibitions would become a major attraction of Mysuru Dasara in the coming years and assured that efforts would be made to facilitate their official participation in the festival.
He also suggested that expanding the collection could help make Mysuru a tourist destination for vintage automobile enthusiasts, on the lines of the ‘Manjusha Museum’ at Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala.
Members of the State Vintage Car Association are scheduled to arrive in Mysuru from Bengaluru tomorrow (Oct. 13).
A convoy of around 50 vintage cars will visit the Mysore Palace at about 3 pm before proceeding to the exhibition at Hebbal.
