Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru Committee of Samskara Bharati, the National-level organisation working to promote Indian arts and culture, initiated a unique theatre workshop ‘Virata Natakotsava Abhiyana’ yesterday at Champaka Academy in Ramakrishnanagar.
A project of Samskara Bharati, Karnataka, Southern Region, the workshop aims to empower amateurs and professionals to come together to present a drama based on real life incidents of freedom fighters of Mysuru region.
The workshop was initiated by renowned artiste and President of Samskara Bharati, Mysuru Committee, Ganjifa Raghupathi Bhat. Well-known theatre personality Na. Srinivas (Papu) is conducting the workshop. Vidushi Nagalakshmi, Prahlad and Jagadish were present to take forward this initiative in future.
Enthusiastic youngsters and professionals participated in the workshop. The goal of the 4-day workshop is to create awareness on freedom fighters and instil a sense of pride for the country, as part of 75 years’ celebrations of Indian Independence.
This project, seeded in Mysuru, will be implemented across all districts of Karnataka.
