Mysuru: VSS Vishnu Sena has sought construction of Vishnu Memorial before the birth anniversary of Actor Vishnuvardhan, otherwise the Sena would support the party, which provides concrete assurance on constructing the memorial, in the next election.
Disclosing this at a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavana here yesterday, Vishnu Sena State President T. Rajugowda said that Vishnuvardhan’s birth anniversary is on Sept. 18 and no Memorial has been constructed at the identified place even after seven years following the actor’s death.
He further said that the government had acquired a land of 5 acres on survey number 8 in Halalu village near Udbur on the outskirts of city belonging to one Sannappa with an assurance to provide a site and a job.
Compensation to land owner
Continuing, Rajugowda said that as no compensation was granted by the government, Sannappa had moved the court under the fear of losing the land. Hence he demanded that the government should provide agreed compensation to Sannappa, resolve the issue of construction of the Memorial and commence the work soon.
Vishnu Sena State Organising Secretary T.S. Srikanta, Advocates B. Parashiva and Nagaraj and other office-bearers were present at the press meet.
