Bengaluru: N.R. Vishukumar, Director, Kannada and Culture Department, Bengaluru, has been appointed as In-charge Dean of Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA).

A communication signed on behalf of Karnataka Governor and Chancellor of Universities by Government Under-Secretary to Kannada and Culture and Information Department P.S. Malathi said that as In-charge Dean Basavaraja Musavalagi had retired on July 31, 2017 Vishukumar will hold the additional charge till further orders.

It may be recalled here that students of CAVA have been protesting against the non-appointment of a Dean to their institute even after a month following the previous Dean’s retirement. They had threatened to boycott the annual Dasara CAVA Mela too.
