Vishva Navkar Mahamantra Divas celebrations on Apr. 9

April 7, 2026

Mysore/Mysuru: Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) will be celebrating Vishva Navkar Mahamantra Divas in Mysuru on Apr. 9 at Town Hall.

Mysuru will be joining thousands of people around the world who will be reciting this mantra in more than 120 countries at the same time for World peace. The chanting of Navkar Mantra will also happen at 28 centres / hoblis / towns around Mysuru city. Home Minister Amit Shah will be joining in reciting this mantra at New Delhi.

Navkar Mantra addresses the divine qualities and attainments of all the saints, siddhas and sages. It is beyond the boundaries of religion, caste and creed. Chanting this mantra regularly with devotion, dedication and sincerity can have a great cleansing effect on the individuals.

It does not address any specific name of God or saint. The prayer only venerates the qualities, attainments and characteristics of the noble souls who descended on this earth, lived noble lives and showed the path to enlightenment for all the beings.

The Navkar Mantra is a general chant to venerate and seek the blessings of all Gods, sages and saints. Jainism does not recommend asking for favours or material benefits from the Tirthankaras or the saints. The mantra respects and praises the advanced spiritual beings who show the path to the rest of the humans to follow. It seeks the blessings of those noble souls that remind people of their final goal or Nirvana.

JITO Mysore call upon all the public of Mysuru to chant this mantra on Apr. 9 at sharp 8.30 am to join thousands across the globe for universal peace.
