Vishwakarma leaders demand benefits

Mysore/Mysuru: Upset over the negligence of the community, Vishwakarma Community leaders staged a protest in front of Town Hall here on Monday.

Addressing the protestors, State Vishwakarma Youth Wing Vice-President Nagendra Vishwakarma said that even rural youths of the community should get facilities and benefits of Vishwakarma Development Corporation. Urging the Government to establish Vishwakarma University in Mysuru district, Nagendra  demanded that the Government should also announce a grant of Rs.100 crore to the Corporation. 

The other demands included felicitation of achievers during the Vishwakarma Jayanti celebrations at the district-level, installation of Amarashilpi Jakanachari statue in Vidhana Soudha premises and release of Rs.50 crore for development of community Mutts which are lacking in funds, among others.

Community leaders Marur Nanjundaswamy, Ningachari, Mani, Puttanna, Siddarajachari, Malavalli Srinivas and others were present.
