Mysuru: Lashing out at Chief Minister Siddharamaiah for casting aspersions on the Supreme Court, which ordered CBI probe into Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy suicide case, JD(S) leader and former MP A.H. Vishwanath has said that the Siddharamaiah Government should honour the SC ruling.
Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here this morning, Vishwanath hit out at the CM for making light remarks on the demand for the resignation of Minister K.J. George who has been named first accused along with two senior IPS officers, in the FIR filed by the CBI.
“Siddharamaiah should remember that he was earlier an advocate before casting aspersions on the Supreme Court,” Vishwanath said. Maintaining that Law & Order had collapsed in the State, he alleged that the State Government had weakened investigation agencies such as Lokayukta, CID and ACB forcing them to sub-serve his Government and himself.
Alleging that murders, molestation and such other heinous crimes are on the rise in the State, the JD(S) leader claimed that the Congress Government consistently has been refusing to honour Court rulings.
Referring to the 2018 Assembly polls, Vishwanath said that hectic political activities had already begun in all the three major parties — Congress, BJP and JD(S) and that lobbying had already begun for Assembly tickets.
Questioning what the Chief Minister who claims to be from AHINDA had done for these communities, Vishwanath challenged Siddharamaiah to declare the number of tickets that the Congress would allot for AHINDA candidates in the coming Assembly polls.
Claiming that CM Siddharamaiah had entered into a secret understanding with Karnataka based leaders of Sangh Parivar and BJP at Delhi, Vishwanath cited three reasons in support of his claim — Failure to arrest RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat for inciting communal violence in coastal region, failure to arrest Hindu organisation leader Jagadish Karanth for threatening a minority community Police Inspector and failure to take action against Sri Ram Sena leader Pramod Muthalik.
City JD(S) President Harish Gowda, District President Narasimha Murthy, ZP Member Beerihundi Basavanna, leaders Arkesh and Somasundar were present during the press meet.
