Vishwanath to quit as State JD(S) President

Mysuru: Citing poor health, State JD(S) President A.H. Vishwanath on Thursday  said he was planning to quit from his post.

Maintaining that he was not keeping well and was unable to continue in the post, Vishwanath said he wants to concentrate on the development of Hunsur Constituency, which he represents.

Pointing out that his poor health had hindered organisational plans of the party, Vishwanath said that however a final decision on his quitting the post will be taken by the Party Supremo H.D. Deve Gowda.

Stressing on the need for the JD(S) to win as many seats as possible in the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls, he said this requires extensive travelling and organisational activities, which he cannot do because of his poor health. “This has prompted to think about stepping down from JD(S) State President post,” he pointed out.
