South Zone registered an exciting five-run win over North Zone and entered the final in the Vizzy Trophy cricket tournament 2018-19 played at Scindia School Cricket ground at Gwalior on Thursday.
Batting first, South Zone posted a decent total of 247 in 49.5 overs. Skipper Aditya Somanna top scored with 87. Kishore Kamath (53), Krathi Kiran (41) and M.Utham Aiyappa (20 n.o) were other contributors. S.P. Kumar took 3 for 48 for North Zone.
In reply, North Zone rallied well but fell short of the target by five-runs ( 242 in 48.4 overs). Marshal Bhagat (50), Shubham Dahiya (56), S.P. Kumar (30), Y.R. Sharma (29) were the major contributors. Mysuru lad and fast bowler K. Shashank impressed with figures of three for 50. B.S. Yodhan Hrudhay, Madan Mohan, Pranav Bhatia, Kishore Kamath and skipper Aditya Somanna took a wicket each. With this win South Zone have entered the final.
